BIO:
Jodi Jones is a self taught photographer.
Jodi's passion was film. She studied acting for many years in Orlando, Florida and Los Angeles, California and worked on small independent films, tv shows and commercials. While in LA, she was given a small film camera from photographer friends in New York: Ron Michaels and Nickolas Frantisek, and started experimenting with black and white film. She would walk around with a camera and shoot anyone that wanted to pose. Soon afterwards, she was invited by the same photographers to assist them at New York Fashion Week for their magazine "RunwayChic.com". Their passion for the craft and art of photography is what inspired Jodi to become a photographer.
Jodi was then persuaded to print some of her photographs from a few fashion week seasons and show them to a photo agent visiting in New York. Jodi met with the agent and showed him around 2000 of her runway images and was signed to his agency, ZUMA Press. Jodi has been represented by ZUMA since 2001 and has been shooting fashion weeks consecutively for the past 20 seasons perfecting her craft as a highly regarded runway photographer. Her runway photography has been published worldwide in magazines such as American Vogue, Vanity Fair, Time, Newsweek and People. In 2007, a documentary tv show called "Women on Top" produced a TV special on Jodi as a top female runway photographer in a male dominated field. The production followed Jodi around with tv cameras for several weeks and Hasselblad delivered her a 31 mega-pixel H3D camera and lenses to experiment with.
Jodi Jones is now a full-time freelance photographer and creative director located on the Williamsburg (Brooklyn) waterfront in New York City…… a hip, funky, industrial part of new york city full of creative artists and beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline.
